Maryland releases involve county jails, state institutions, courts, supervision offices, and federal systems. For an existing DPSCS release or discharge record, use the DPSCS Public Information Act page or write to the PIA Coordinator, Office of Constituent Services, 6776 Reisterstown Road, Suite 212, Baltimore, MD 21215, at dpscs.pia@maryland.gov. Former incarcerated people seeking their own file can contact the institution of release or Case Management Office for Operations at 410-585-3300. DPSCS does not hold county jail records.
- For a county jail release, choose the locality in the County Directory and contact its sheriff or corrections records office.
- For a court release, bond, sentencing, or parole order, use Maryland Judiciary Case Search and request the actual document from the court clerk.
- For parole or mandatory-supervision decisions, contact the Maryland Parole Commission; for office routing, use the statewide DPP office directory.
- For custody notifications, use Maryland VINE. Register again when a person or case moves between systems.
- For a specific jail or institution, select it in the Facility Directory before sending a request.
- For federal custody, use the BOP Inmate Locator; use ICE ODLS for possible immigration detention.
Include the full name, known identifier, last facility or court, and an approximate date range when contacting the proper office. Do not send Social Security numbers, medical records, victim details, or other sensitive personal information to this private site.
